M.I.L.O is a unique 2d story driven point & click game made with non typical means. It is a kit-bash of mixed media and is unique in its visual design and storytelling. Relying more on its visual looks and audio than its gameplay M.I.L.O. åis meant to inspire and wonder.

Milo follows a curious star fox on his quest to unravel the mysteries of an abandoned satellite in space.
During this quest you will meet 4 original characters each with their own compelling story and personality.

M.I.L.O. started out as a vague concept based on personal interests and fascinations and over the past 8 months it has grown into a fully independent and unique game experience. I was always fascinated by the more quirky games and movies with their own unique visuals and storytelling. Being a huge fan of Samorost 3 you could say this project is in a way a homage to this particular game. This project is my own interpretation of what makes Samorost 3 so unique and interesting, but with my own personal twist.

The satellite is the place where the whole game takes places. It is the most important asset in the game and became the main staple for the feel and atmosphere of the game.

  1. Artist statement; wat is je specialisme, wat maakt jouw werk uniek?

Hey, I'm Robin and I'm a beginning artist in the Dutch creative industry.
Besides game art I also specialises in illustration and basic animations.
Currently working as a zzp'er under the name RavenMilo I work with Photoshop, After Effects and Unity. In my work I mainly focus on creativity and originality and I have a lot of experience with different analog alternative media like sculpting, painting, building models and sketching.

  2. Wat zijn je ambities? Wat wil je over vijf jaar bereikt hebben?

In 5 years I hope to fill the roll of leading art director. For my own projects but also for projects of others. You could say I aspire to be an art director for hire.

  3. Wat is het belangrijkste dat je hebt geleerd tijdens je studie?

Always try to be independent and never blame others for your own failure. pointing fingers get you nowhere, you should always take responsibility for your own career even if it isn't initially your fault. also: don't be afraid to try new things and think outside the box
